Voice lessons can be purchased either as private lessons or as group lessons. My technique is based on Classical Bel Canto principles. The care of the voice is tantamount to all training, and the caressing of the vocal cords are essential to the technique which I teach.

Principles of Voice

  1. Maintain the color of the tone throughout the range. In order to accomplish this, one must be in the body, lean on the chest which in Italian is called “apoggio” or “appoggiare”. The mouth position plays an important role in maintaining the color of the tone.
  2. Breathe through the nose, and lift the soft palatte, while naturally lowering the larynx.
  3. Relax the jaw, tongue and throat as well as the facial muscles. Once all of these are relaxed, truly relaxed, then the pure tone can emerge.
  4. The balance of the registers. Depending on the voice type, the voice needs to be balanced. The overuse of the voice can be re-balanced with more use of head voice, or falsetto.
  5. Vocalizing daily in the correct manner will help build a good vocal technique. Success in singing breeds further success!
